Students go the Annenberg Learner interactive website – the depth the student goes into the website is up to them; however, all need to submit a screenshot of a 15 point rock cycle/rock types quiz found at the end of the interactives website.

Geocaching to get outdoorsDistance learning students go on local field trips. Students learn to use geocaching app on their smart phones or iPads. They share what the discovered and where in a D2L Discussion Board.

Earthcaching Field TripsThen use the app to find two Earthcache – which will give geological explanations of the sites. Students then explain how they could use this technology with their K-8 students.
